We are continuing the tradition of our annual single barrels. This time we are going back to the very beginning to 2018, when we celebrated 500 years. That’s when we introduced the SB Anniversary Edition in a bourbon barrel for the first time, which was 8 YO (2010 vintage) and hand-bottled on 7/4/2018.
Already then, Blend Master Roman Petruš selected exceptional barrels that showed great potential for the maturation of sensory properties (aroma and taste) and treated and tasted them regularly, and in 2022 the right time came when the flavors and aromas were combined and harmonized.
It has been aged for 12 years in bourbon oak barrels. The wood is American white oak fired to a medium value.
Interesting fact: Mr. Jiří Bartoška (famous actor and president of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival) also participated in the selection of barrel No. 78
slightly sweet with hints of tobacco and oak wood
very fine, harmonious flavor tinged with notes of dried fruit (especially plum, slightly figs) with a strong woody flavor. Caramel, vanilla, and butter cookie flavors stand out in the background
