To celebrate our 501st anniversary, we prepared a rye distillate, which in 2011 we stored in a sherry oloroso barrel, a Spanish fortified wine from Andalusia in southern Spain, where it gradually acquired its unique character.
The Exclusive Edition of the Old hunter`s rye Single Barrel was created in honor of the five-hundredth anniversary of the founding of the Green Tree Distillery. Each variant of the edition acquires its unique character thanks to storage in different barrels for a period of eight years.
The specific taste, aroma, and other unique properties correspond to individual vintages and types of barrels. Thanks to this, the Old Hunter`s Rye Single Barrel falls into the category of collector’s editions. Each Single Barrel is different and unrepeatable based on the particular barrel it was aged in and thus, labels are individually made by hand.
