To celebrate our 502nd anniversary, in 2012 we stored the foundation of our Old Hunter’s Rye in barrels of French Cabernet Sauvignon from the Limousine region. These rare casks have given this single barrel collector’s edition a light fruity sweetness with blackcurrant and blackberry flavors with a long, slightly smoky tobacco finish with a hint of vanilla.
The Exclusive Edition of the Old Hunter’s Rye Single Barrel was created in honor of the five-hundredth anniversary of the founding of the Green Tree Distillery. Each variant of the edition acquires its unique character thanks to storage in different barrels for a period of eight years.
The specific taste, aroma, and other unique properties correspond to individual vintages and types of barrels. Thanks to this, the Old Hunter`s Rye Single Barrel falls into the category of collector’s editions. Each Single Barrel is different and unrepeatable based on the particular barrel it was aged in and thus, labels are individually made by hand.
